Moxy by Marriott

I love to be surprised by hotels. I did not know what to expect when staying in Moxy Glasgow last week. I knew it would be quirky but didn’t know how much.

When I arrived, I was welcomed with a rum cocktail. The reception was also a bar which was an unusual welcome. The entrance had a roaring fireplace, pool table and 2 egg swings by the window. It really is a great location to hangout with friends. My favourite part of the whole hotel was the pink punching bag in the gym. All in all the value for the hotel room was a steal.

One of my favourite places to stay! Will defo be back!

BEAN Caffé – Derby

Travelling around it’s hard to try to eat healthy, let alone find your usual food or hot drink you go for. I love Matcha, especially Matcha Latte. Most places really struggle in making a good Matcha Latte but not this place. This spectacular find, in Derby is probably the only thing I love about Derby.

Checkout their decor and space. They also do catering and exclusive hire. If I lived here, that’s definitely where I would go!

Winter Wonderland

Christmas theming can sometimes feel over used, same decoration, same music and same traditions. Thats what I love that about Christmas!

Growing up in Dubai we never had snow for Christmas, actually the coldest it ever dropped to was 15 degree which we found freezing.  We would take out the massive metal box of Christmas Decoration, roll out the lights and start organising the decoration. We only used Red and Gold with random ornaments we collected over the years. We never really experimented with a Winter wonderland theme until I decided one year that I will take over the decorations.

This sparked a theme that I love so dearly, Winter Wonderland. A previous Christmas Party I organised was for Waldorf Hilton London’s Christmas Staff Party. We created a winter wonderland theme with a strict dress code of blue, white, black and gold. Decoration was simple with silver table runners, white trees, blue lighting and silver chair bows. We organised a backdrop of snow peaked mountains with trees and moving animals.

PM me if you want the contact for the supplier.

Fun fact – I was 14 years old when I saw snow!

Sky Bar Edinburgh

Overlooking the gem of Edinburgh, this romantic picturesque venue is an ideal location for those love birds who want to rekindle their romance or for those who are clueless in where to pop the question this would be the place. Ask for the table by the window, get a bottle of champagne and pop the question overlooking Edinburgh castle.

For those interested in event space why not hire this space overlooking Edinburgh castle for a drinks reception. For those who haven’t chosen a place for Christmas work party this is defo the place to be!

Naked Flame

Nothing beats a centrepiece like a candle. We are living in a world where we can have candles in any shape, size and colour. Depending on your colour scheme this can enhance the theme dramatically.

As Thanksgiving is around the corner why not use red and orange candle sticks to illuminate your dining table this year. Scatter some fall leaves and cinnamon sticks to complete the look. You will have the best natural smelling centrepiece your guests will ever see.

Spotlight Sunday – Zero Waste

I have never been creative enough to paint something magical or design an artistic peice. My sister however excels in anything artistic.

With her zero waste mindset she has created Christmas decorations using the land and her innovation. Have a look at what she has created.
