12 days until Halloween. Depending on where you are in the world and if you actually do celebrate Halloween then here are a few fun ideas for the spooky day! I love Halloween, mainly for the decoration, dressing up and the fun treats! Last year we created a maze to get into the kitchen, decorated our entire dining room with a zombie backdrop and a graveyard in the garden. I have attached some photos of what I did. Get people to help and the more toasted you are, the more fun it gets!
One thing that went down well and only took 30 minutes to prep and make was sausage fingers. Sadly I don’t have photos of this however will explain the simple way of creating this. Purchase any type of ready made sausages and ready made pastry. Cut the pastry in thin strips and individually start wrapping the sausage leaving only a gap and the top. Slice a small and flat amount of the sausage at the top to make it look like a finger nail. Pop in the oven for 20 – 25 minutes at 185 degrees celsius. Take them out to cool and serve them in dipped ketchup. ALWAYS make more than you should, you do not need to bake them all before people arrive, you can leave them in the fridge and when your party is feeling very peckish, then you just pop them in the oven. They will all love you for it!
Stay tuned, I will add a few more fun and creative ideas in the count down to Halloween.
